As you can see I have had success. This statement by the apostle John helps us realize that loving someone is more than saying it with words. The words are still important and can be extremely comforting and uplifting but only in the context of being applied, that is if they are backed up with other things, with actions that demonstrate love. And the other thing which authenticates the words and actions is that they be immersed in truth. The best way to know what truth is and what love is, is to go to the one who said I am the way, the truth and the life, and demonstrated it by giving his life for the sake of others, to give them hope and salvation. That someone is Jesus Christ. Not only does he demonstrate perfect love but he has set people free so that they may experience love and be able to love through the gift of God's Spirit in us. That enables us to be the people we were meant to be and live in peace and joy and love.
